Description
This is the updated 300-watt replacement igniter for Mt Vernon AE Stoves and Inserts and is also the standard igniter used in the Mt Vernon E2 and the Trekker series stoves and inserts.
Technical Bulletin – October 2011-A new service part igniter is currently available for Advanced Energy units (AE) in which the consumer burns pellet fuel only. This igniter is 300 watts, so it will stay cooler and last longer than the current 380 watt igniter, but it will not light other biomass fuels. Although all igniters do burn out, you will see improved performance with the 300 watt igniter. This igniter should not be used in any non-AE units. The part number for the 300 watt igniter is SRV7000-647. For consumers who prefer to maintain full multi-fuel functionality, replace a burned out igniter with the existing 380 watt igniter, part SRV7000-462. New units of the Mt. Vernon AE were ALWAYS shipped with the multi-fuel 380 watt igniter, even after the update. This new igniter is a service part option ONLY. The AE service firepot assembly (SRV7034- 072) is now replaced with SRV7034-072B. This new service firepot assembly is identical to the previous assembly, except the igniter will no longer be included.
