The Xylem-Hoffman Specialty 405152 is a 1/2-inch thermodisc trap designed for use in a variety of HVAC systems.It mechanically removes condensate from steam lines while preventing live steam from escaping. A bimetallic spring mechanism, which expands and contracts in response to temperature fluctuations, powers the Xylem-Hoffman Specialty 405152. As the condensate cools, the spring contracts, releasing a valve and enabling it to drain. On the other hand, the spring extends and closes the valve to stop steam loss when the live stream reaches the trap.
